    The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

    I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

    People love to give me nicknames. Lots of things rhyme with my name but lots of my nicknames have nothing to do with that. Mellow yello isn’t really one of them.

      When I was in HS I don't think Strawberry Shortcake cartoons were a thing yet but a girl I went to school with had a t-shirt with the character on it.
      I started calling her "Shortcakes" as a joke. (she was really tiny). I think I was the only one who did so it's not like I started a trend or anything.
      Years later, reconnecting with her on FB I saw her user name was (first name) shortcakes (last name)
      In conversations, she told me she never made the connection between the name and the shirt she wore on occasion and thought I was using it as a euphemism for her boobs.
      In HS she was as petite across the chest as she was everywhere else and was just happy that some boy noticed them.
      She said she never told anyone her FB user name was a reference to her boobs. It was just a nickname someone had given her and she'd always liked it.
      Go figure.

    My real name is technically the shortened form of a longer name, and thus, already a nickname, but that hasn’t stopped people from coming up with nicknames.

    One of my favourites, which was only ever used by one person is ”Anchor-button”, and then later shortened to ”Button”. Those are translations, the actual words being in finnish Ankkurinappi and Nappi. It was a sort of joke taken from a finnish popular song back in the 80’s. She’s dead by now, but I still miss her calling me that...

    Generally in my meatspace life I can’t get people to use my real name, never mind a nickname. It’s the strangest thing, and it’s been like that my whole life. I guess I’m She Who Must Not Be Named :devilish: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    I use nicknames and endearments endlessly, because they’re fun and sweet. I love using them, and hearing them. :inlove::inlove::inlove:

    People shorten my given name (Philip) which I hated & I'd tell them it's Philip not Phil then I got older and now ignore it.

    Growing up my nickname was the same as a popular game that involves letter/number combos and daubers. (Think B-7 or O-69). None of my living family has any idea why, though. I still get called it occasionally.

    As a child growing up nobody every called me by anything other than my name, and then later as an adult, I was on a road trip to LA with some friends, and one of them pointed out that I have a mischievous sense of humor, and she dubbed me Devilish D, and they have all called me Dee since then.

    Except for the time we were being Spice Girls on another road trip and I was assigned to be Posh Spice. lol
